I explored this subject today for the third time, the white bowl on top of an abstract painting of mine. Natural afternoon light from the window makes me glad the days are getting longer. Just need it a bit warmer and I can start painting outside! I really like how the whole painting appears abstract, the cropping contributes to that compression of the picture plane. What will be next?
I like how a small painting close cropped like this becomes all about shapes and color. The little bits of red really add to the composition of the color.
