Between the Buildings

A very grey morning with biting winds. I had hoped to paint plein air today, but it's still way too cold, so I set up by the window. I wanted to paint a street scene and the studio was warm and cozy. When I finished this, I did some very abstracted and simplified versions of the roof tops which I will post tomorrow.

  1. Very cool. Sometimes finding a subject to paint is like standing in front of a full pantry and saying there is nothing to eat. There are always views and items that can make great paintings.

  2. Thank you, I like that analogy. As someone once told me, it's not what you paint, but how you paint it.
