Underpainting

This canvas is a little different than my usual, it's 24x48 inches. I feel excited and intimidated at the same time. I just started a class with  Nancy McCarthy at MassArt. Over the next 16 weeks we will be writing goals, establishing a painting schedule, identifying painting relatives and working to make our paintings more personal. Yes, I am ready for this new challenge.

Time it's on my side

When to paint, when to post? I'm working more, priorities shifting, what to do? Here's a page from my journal...lets you in on my frustrations. As they say, "It's all good!" It's relaxing to cut and paste, and interesting things are revealed, when there is no critic sitting on my shoulder. What do you do when this happens?

Blue Teapot

We found this last summer at our church fair, my sister will add it to her collection of teapots and I will paint it. Today was the day. Behind it is the large new painting I have just begun. Nothing is more soothing than a blue teapot steeping a fragrant brew!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone! Starting the year painting from observation, talking a long walk with a fellow artist, seeing my grandchildren, smelling a fabulous dinner my husband is cooking....I've never had it so good!
