The tide comes in and the tide goes out

Another look at the ebb of Provincetown's tide. I have lived most of my life by the ocean, on several islands, and yearned for the sounds of crashing waves and the smell of brine when I've been too far away. I am at home by the sea. I find peace at the waters edge. I respect its' forceful power to humble me. It's my "go to" place in nature, what's yours?

  1. I love the ocean but too also enjoy the beauty of the mountains and forests. However, within the solace of the forest, I enjoy the sound of a river and the sight of the pebbles and rocks within the river bed which must stem from my love of the sea.

  2. The ocean is such an impressive sight but to me it is so over whelming, thinking about how far across it is to the farther shore and what lies beneath, I can not find it peaceful as much as I love it. I love the mountains too, especially camping by a bubbling stream. I guess I have several go to places for peace including my own backyard, Red River, New Mexico, the Texas Hill Country, and Rocky Mountain National Park,Colorado.

  3. Thank you both, I guess what we share is our love of nature. That peace can be found in so many places if we are open to it. Kathy, I can't wait to see more of your inspiring photographs, and Doug, I can't wait to visit your part of the country.
