Day 26

Down by the beach again for my plein air from the car studio, a brilliant blue sky, only 17 degrees though. No one surfing today, the ocean was flat calm and looked freezing!
This formation is well known, many 19th century painters were drawn to Hanging Rock, as painters still are today. Day 26 of 30 in the Leslie Saeta Challenge, we're in the home stretch.

  1. I like this one and also like that you were out painting! The weekends challenge me as I do all the other daily paintings in my studio in the dark and the light doesn't change - I ended up painting from a photo today! I should have went out like you! Well done!

  2. Thank you Margaret. I appreciate your comments, but please don't say what you Should have done! What you are doing is terrific!

  3. You transition so beautifully from blue shoes to plein air! Love this, and really get a sense of the cold weather. The last two days I painted looking out from my living room window, by the warm and cozy radiator, so I am afraid that doesn't qualify as plein air...but it was still fun.
Hard to believe we will be wrapping this up Thursday!

  4. Thanks for stopping by Claire! I love your views from the window, I was in the car, you in the house, what's the difference?!

  5. Anne, really like your auto-painting plein air! Captures the moment of "being there" beautifully.

  6. Hey Anne............trying to fix your link again! This one is really nice! I always loved that rock (and that beach) - you certainly did it justice.

  7. Hi Anne, I'd like to show this painting as part of my Powerpoint talk at PAG next Sunday on the history of painting in Paradise. I hope you don't mind! Can you tell me the size and was it on panel or canvas? tx, Jon
