House on Beach Row

Lucky me! Outside again, breezes by the water in Point Judith, what could be better?
8x8 on panel, lots of simplifying. So easy to get fussy; why do we do that? It was the light on the side of the house that caught my attention, I almost fussed it away with detail!!

Hot in the City

Painted with Judy Chaves and Amy Wynne Derry, a loose group gathering for plein aire. Three others, next time I will write down your names!
Looking at the bridge from Collier Point Park in Providence, an exciting place with a painting no matter where you looked.
8x10 on board and yes, it felt fantastic to be out!
94 degrees when I left at 11am.

Mothers Day

My heart is with all mothers today- if you've loved a child, lost a child, wanted a child, given up a child, have dreams for your child, would sacrifice all for your child, had your heart filled and broken by a child, may you love and honor yourself today. All blessings to you, dear one.

Move that rock!

After I posted yesterday's painting, I got the unsettling feeling that the foreground rock overpowered the composition and blocked the viewer from comfortably entering into the painting. That's where posting in haste got me! Do you think this is better? It's good to see the problem, then be able to fix it!

Low Tide

When it's too windy for plein air, the next best thing is painting from the car.

Hills of Verona

A sunny afternoon as our trip comes to a close. Wanted to capture a sense of the rolling hills and Virginia countryside we've been enjoying on this RV adventure.
