All the leaves are falling

In the painting class I teach; I gathered up an assortment of fallen autumn leaves. Light, fragile, but full of shapes and value. Here's my go at it. First we did the leaf, then with a piece of colored paper to add interest to the composition. 6x6 on panel.

  2. What a fabulous idea to use the colored paper. The leaf is very beautiful and I love the way you painted it, but the straight line of color emphasizes its curl and color

  3. So much harder than I had expected! I had to lighten the shadow twice, amazing how much there is to learn with each new painting. Thank you for your support and encouragement!
