Camping
6x6 plein air while camping on the Outer Banks. I wanted to try something simple, a glass on a table. I know there are problems and need to try more glass on a table. Will be a good exercise to continue with.

Julia Another Attempt
11x14 canvas on panel, not liking this surface, is it canvas or a panel? It wants to be both but I'm not happy. Or is it an excuse for my painting, which was a struggle all night long. Wiped out my sad attempts at features 5 times, enough already. She is so lovely, but that's not what this is about. I hope I am growing in ways I just can't see yet.

Nag's Head
This yellow house sits in the dunes next to Jennette's Pier in Nag's Head, NC. The pier goes out 1000 ft from shore, rebuilt last year after damage from yet another hurricane. 6x6 panel, a sunny but windy day. Beautiful.

In the Woods
When I was in Annapolis earlier this month, I wanted to do some plein air studies. We were staying in our RV at a friends house, deep in the woods. Walking around, I noticed this woodpile and thought "that's it". Something simple. Well, you know as well as I do, it's never simple. The morning was cold, in the 40's, but I'm glad I stuck it out to do this little 6x6 study.

Back To The Dock
This 12x48" painting is my response to the fishing industry of Rhode Island, with articles I found and fixed to the stern of the boat using encaustics. I entered it in a show "Imagine Blue" at The Portsmouth Arts Guild and was thrilled to find out that I won 1st Prize. I wanted to share this good news with you!
