I am showing the stages this painting went through during each 20 minute sitting. You can see the searching and the struggle, and I hope the satisfaction when I finished with a portrait that captures this models features as well as her personality.

ReplyDeleteNice portrait and character study! Really good to see your progression—I'm struggling with a portrait from a photo, on my third attempt. Seeing these, it would be good for me to do a series of looser, smaller studies to explore, observe and be less tied to an end result. Thanks!
